Route Options for Photowalks by Katrin Dora
The photowalks I offer last between 1 to 1.5 hours. You can choose any route you like or combine them if you need more than 1.5 hours of shooting.
Suzhou Creek + The Bund
Tip
Start from the Embankment Building, walk along the river, pass by the beautiful China Post Office building, capture the Waibaidu Bridge, and finish at The Bund.
The Bund and its inner streets
Tip
From East Nanjing Road metro station, head towards the river and take a few shots on Nanjing Street: crowds of people and huge signs - the ready vibe of the Chinese metropolis. Pose between the columns of old houses on the promenade, and then cross the road to check-in with the skyscrapers as your backdrop.
Hint
I recommend to start the photoshoot early in the morning, to avoid the crowds. 7-9 am.
Night on The Bund
Tip
After 19:00, the Bund transforms into something magical. With the right attire, this photoshoot could become worthy of a magazine cover.
Hint
Will not work if the air is too polluted.
Wukang road + Wukang Building
Tip
A perfect spot to capture the vibe of the French Concession.
Gongqing Forest Park
Tip
This park is one of the largest and most beautiful in Shanghai. It features flower fields, forest areas, bodies of water, and rocks. There are also adorable four-seater bicycles available for rent. If you're a nature lover and appreciate being surrounded by your favorite environment, this park comes highly recommended.
Hint
It's 30 min away by car from the downtown. Be aware of your time. Taxi fee to be paid for a photographer.
Yu Garden
Tip
For beautiful photos, it is better to come in the morning when the garden is not yet crowded with tourists. We can choose one of the arches on the premises and take several shots in it, and then head to the nearby bridge with the willow tree. On the neighboring shopping street, we can capture traditional tiled roofs and the atmosphere of old China.
Hint
Admission is charged.
West Bund
Tip
Combining industrial vibes with nature and water would be excellent for a photo shoot focused on an active lifestyle, sports and fashion.
Creative Space "1933"
Tip
The best time to take photos is midday, when the light accentuates the geometry of the building. This place is ideal for those who enjoy dark and mystical photography.
